John Wick 1 was awesome. John Wick 3&4 sucked ass and brought 2 down with it. Nobody asked for Ballerina. Now pay the price.

International projections are in. $26 Million.

$51 Million total worldwide on a $90 Million budget.

This will be the first losing John Wick property, although certainly not the first deserving of that title.

Lionsgate will lose at least $50 Million on this one, and that's with making tons of allowances like dropping their marketing budget way lower than a company like Disney would have spent marketing this.

Wick was like a weird dark humors version of Bourne Ultimatum, The Raid, Hardcore Henry, The Italian Connection La mala ordina, Assassins 1995, maybe kinda similar to a cheapass Seagal or Jet Li film or Hong Kong Hard Boiled or the French La Femme Nikita

I watched the First Wick it was murderous, kind of degenerate but it was entertaining, the mobsters shot his dog...he was a expert killer a hitman...some Swedish actor guy played a Russian and there was the guy who played the abused idiot in Game of Thrones playing another degenerate, there was the woman who almost played wonder woman and on Agents and Shield I forget the name and a bunch of other strong supporting cast, Deadwood Ian McShane as enigmatic dark shadow man behind the scenes, John Leguizamo cars and Dafoe shows up to save his ass with a sniper shot...I don't remember much other than Morbid Humor and he was like killer from a Ghost Story. I think someone or some others told me the other Wicks started to be crap, too dark, too political, too un-funny I think the other films were started to come out at the end of Obama and start of Trump when everything felt 'uncool' then 'Avengers Infinity War' maybe EndGame was seen as the last of peak Hollywood

plot, it was all about getting revenge for the Dog...a joke that only works once?

I hear Seagal is with Putin now, Jet Li doesn't really do film anymore

...are they still making Taken films

can it be worse than Expendables 4?

John Wick was a ridiculous movie, but for all the right reasons. Like when I was watching The Hunt, I was smiling about half the time the movie was playing out. Had over the top cartoonish violence like that movie too. I don't like REAL violence, like the sequel to Silence of the Lambs.

Two did take on a more serious tone, but I felt that it was a good direction for the franchise to take because you really can only do the dog gimmick once, and the first movie was totally insular and it was complete. You didn't need a sequel at all. The cliffhanger in 2 was great. The first half or so of the 3rd movie was pretty decent, but it just fell off a cliff by the 3rd act. 4th movie was a video game let's play borefest.

I didn't think it got to political. It just got really, really, really boring.

Ballerina showed up in one of them. Can't even remember her first appearance. I don't believe she was in the 2nd, but she may have shown up in the 3rd. Good possibility they just shoehorned her into the 4th though. She wasn't a very big character in the movie. I can't remember if the allusion to a spinoff with her came right at the end of the movie or if it was a post-credits coda.

To Brenda: This could be considered John Wick 5, or just a spinoff.

I liked the John Wick movies because of the plots on how he became whatever he was suppose to be was interesting. And hey Keanu Reeves is no slouch either.

Sounds now maybe more like a spin off. Because I remember Wick being killed in the last one but Ian McShane's character said good bye my son. And that line which could have been a throw away, has always made me wonder.

Oh... So you've seen them all. You've seen the Ballerina then. She was the daughter of one of the guys that got killed in the movie. At this point I couldn't even tell you if it was the daughter of a friend or a foe. I think a friend? She was in the 4th movie for sure. We saw all 4 of them within about a month and that was a while back now, so it's all blurry to me.

Decided to do a little research on it and I was confused. This new "Eve" didn't look like somebody I'd seen before. I can't be blamed for making the mistake though. Here's what I'm seeing now about this "new" character.

Yup, I've seen all of them and outside of Ian McShane's character I don't really remember the others. Would have to watch them again.

I would have to watch John Wick 3 again to see if I can catch this character. Now, that I sit here thinking about it. I think I do remember a ballerina in the movie. Now, I might be confused. I saw then last year.
