I had no idea the Emmys even happened. People were at least talking about the Golden Globes like last week or something, but I haven't even heard anybody talk about the Emmys online until I read your post here, Who.
That's a laugh. Blaming the SportsBall for the lack of viewers. I'm SURE that other than the new NFL "fans" that Taylor Swift brought to the NFL this year that there is a TON of overlap between Football and autofellating celebrity viewers. /sarcasm
So I guess the real question is, if a bunch of elite asshole celebrities all take a massive simultaneous shit while jerking each other off in Los Angeles and nobody watches it, is Schrodinger's Cat dead or alive?

they made too many of these awards shows
I think its over, the glam or magic or sophistication is gone
normally it was all year, Emmys, Golden Globe, BAFTA, Toronto International Film Festival, some HongKong thing, Cannes Film Festival, almost 100 different ceremony now, the movies are dumb and it has lost meaning.

Yeah... and it's not like MTV even plays videos anymore anyhow. I tuned out after they took Jackass off MTV, and even at that point they hardly had any music videos anymore unless you count TRL where they cut off the last 30 seconds of every song.
It's probably no surprise that as huge as TRL was at one point, it was cancelled in 2008. One year after YouTube went live to the public.
