Trump could have had his wall in 2019 or earlier, but to get 13 Democrats to vote for Trump's wall he must give them something of value in exchange for the wall. He won't make the exchange, which is why Trump is stupid.

Slavery was a system that made a few people .... rich! Slave owners would have lost tremendous amounts of wealth and a continuing income stream (cotton, rice, indigo) if they gave up their slaves.

I have posted more than once that Trump will be remembered more for what he didn't accomplish than for what he did.
No news there.
If he gets another bite of the Presidency, let's hope that he's learned that he needs to keep a cadre of loyal, efficient, hardworking staff and that he remembers that the State Dept, establishment GOP, and military and security agencies are full of rabidly partisan backstabbers and that the first thing he does is a thorough housecleaning of agencies ... of which he is head.
Also, he needs to stop throwing his staff under the bus. He has to remember- it's not all him. But his ego may not allow it. He needs an excellent Chief of Staff and if CoS is good he needs to keep them on.

Signym, it really should be obvious that just because someone is well dressed, highly articulate, represented by the best lawyers, and achieves great personal wealth from being a Liar/Thief/Torturer/Rapist/Murderer that the someone shouldn't be free to do as they please, although the Constitution allows it when the someone has enough lawyers. The entire history of America shows that is how things work, unless Congress goes outside the Constitution, as it did during the Civil War and during several Wars, including wars with Indians, WWI, WWII, etc. I am really impressed with how many civilians get killed by the American Army just because civilians are easy to kill since they are unarmed. How does a civilian fight back against nukes such as Fat Man and Little Boy? For that matter, how does a civilian fight back against Exxon-Mobile attempting to kill the world with carbon dioxide? The Constitution can not hold back Marathon Petroleum, Valero Energy, Phillips 66, Chevron, and Shell because these are persons with their freedom to make money protected by the Constitution and the Republican Party.

Trump wants every Republican who voted for the Democratic bill defeated. Such obstinacy makes it impossible to govern and makes failure a certainty. I bring up past Presidents, who just so happen to be slave-owners and very sanctimonious about the righteousness of their preferred way to treat unpaid workers, as examples of how obstinacy prevented any kind of rational solution to the problem of slavery. An irrational solution, Civil War, was the final solution because the slave-owners, and their preferred Presidents, would not compromise or see reason or even act with decency toward their slaves. Good old Thomas Jefferson (portrait on the rare $2 bill) is explarary of a famous man who acted with indecency, as was Andrew Jackson (portrait on the $20) and Washington ($1). Immortalized on our money, these immoral guys need to be horsewhipped for horse whipping their slaves. Trump could use a horsewhipping, too, just because he is a lying, thieving, raping, tax-cheating, racist nitwit.
