One of the runs I do with the Northbay group of "urban mushers" is up in Petaluma, where they have tons of irrigation "gullies" with trails on either side, all interconnected, almost completely flat, I love it!

My favorite is when we start from a couple's place called "Kamp K-9". They ran a boarding kennel at one time, and tho' they don't anymore, they still have all the "runs" and stuff, so we start from there and when we get back, hang out in one of the runs with coffee and pastry while the dogs frolic.

My guys have previously been real dolts about running up there; they run at 8am, which is late for us so the sun's up and it's warmer, and there's no wildlife to excite my guys, so they just settle into the husky long-distance trot and we get left way behind (as most of the dogs don't get out every day like ours, so they're far more excited to run). The last couple of times my guys have finally decided to get with the program and run "with the pack", so it's gotten much more enjoyable for me.

A 40-minute run and half-hour hang out in a couple of minutes (for any who enjoy such things:

Non Husky related, but still found it worth a chuckle...
