How old is River?

Since I'm one of the three people who haven't seen the pilot or anything beyond that one scene where Mal's wearing brown, I don't know if this is answered or what, but does anybody have any idea how old she's supposed to be? I saw one of the random corner-pictures earlier that had her being held by Simon, and it occurred to me that they really seem to be making her look young (from what little I've seen). I know Summer Glau is just recently of legal drinking age, but I'm guessing our fluvial psychic's supposed to be a little younger.

So, anybody who knows? Guesses? (Can think of a better way to work in the word "fluvial?" )

Never says. Simon seems significantly older than she. He has graduated medical school, and seems to treat her as though she is very young.

Maybe she's around 18? That would seem about right.
