Forums, Old and New, featuring "Real World Event Discussions"

Howdy, folks!
There's a bit o' news at the end, so bear with me. 
Most of the folks who've been visiting fireflyfans.net for a while are familiar with the forums, how to start new threads, and how to tell which forum houses a specific thread on this fabulous site. For those folks that are new - or are just still wondering how this works - here's a little refresher, starting with the different forums/discussion areas that Haken has put together for us. *Pay special attention to the "Other Subjects"! 
On the opening page of the site, just above the title of each of the top ten most recent threads, is the "ghosted" (greyed out) name of the forum where that particular thread is located. All the forums and the nature of the threads they contain are listed below. To start a new thread, simply click on the forum the thread should be in, then use the "Post a New Thread" link at the top right of the page.
Firefly-Specific forums:
General Discussion - For general Firefly conversations.
Firefly Chinese Translations - Another one that needs no explanation. Okay, maybe a little... A place to discuss translations of the Chinese used in Firefly. 
Firefly Episode Discussions - Episode-specific conversations.
Firefly Scripts - Discussion about the actual scripts and filming notes.
Firefly Universe - for role playing in the 'Verse. (Shameless plug for those who'd like to follow along to check out the "Adventures in Gunrunning" RP. )
Firefly: Immediate Assistance
FIREFLYFANS.NET-Specific
FIREFLYFANS.NET Central - State of the Website address. Really! This is where Haken posts worklogs, updates, etc. about the site, and where we can make requests regarding the site.
Feature Article Discussions - A place to discuss the features listed across the top of the home page.
Blue Sun Room - A forum for things having to do with the actual Blue Sun Room - fanfic, filk, images, etc.
Other Subjects
Angelus Arcanum - for, you got it!, talking about Angel the Series.
Buffyverse - Guess? Yep, Buffy the Vampire Slayer's home away from home!
News Headline Discussions - To discuss the latest news headlines.
One Trading Post - Mostly Firefly merchandise, but this is our... well, our trading post!
Other Science Fiction Series - kinda self-explanatory...
Real World Event Discussions - NEW!! Conversations regarding political and real world events. (With all the political threads and talk about political threads in the last couple of weeks, Haken took up a suggestion to start a forum specifically for these types of conversations. If you see a thread on the main page with this title in the ghosted text above it, it would be a good idea to expect that thread to be a political discussion.)
Talk Story - Generic, non-Firefly conversation.
Troll Country - Home of those who insist on being unpleasant and otherwise troll-like.

Thanks. I'm still pretty new - this is the first place I've spent any time at, so I'm still trying to learn the formalities, how to's, must-not's etc.
I see other people posting in troll country - is it the home for a few but a place where others may visit?

Troll Country is generally where trolls are sent when they get too... trolly. Basically, when there's a thread/post that has no purpose other than to jack folks around, insult people, or just make 'em mad, it gets sent there so that the rest of the board doesn't have to be subjected to that childishness. You'll notice that most folks that are only on the board for the purpose of being trolls leave once they've been relegated to Troll Country.
