Dog bites shark! Plucky pooch rounds up the sea's most fearsome beasts

Sharks are the undisputed kings of the shallows, voracious predators who, with one flash of a fin, can send crowds of paddlers fleeing for the safety of the shore.

But one plucky pooch showed a group of these fierce fish just how handy man's best friend can be when he rounds them up like a flock of timid lambs.

These incredible pictures show the moment a dog rounds on a group of sharks, and even dives under the water and gives one a nip.

The film, shot by an unknown Australian, who gives an hilarious running commentary, shows the two dogs as they take a paddle in clear blue waters.

But lurking ominously beneath the waters, the spooky silhouettes of several sharks can be seen blocking the mutts' path to the safety of the shore.

Undeterred, one of the dogs rounds on the sharp-toothed marine monsters, dives under the water and, with a fierce nip, scares the whole school away.

Describing the heroic hound's antics, the excitable cameraman narrates: 'Here they come. He's going down. He's giving him a bite!

'The dog's biting the shark! The dog is underwater with the shark! What the hell!

'That is unbelievable. I've seen everything now.'

I didn't see a whole lot of rounding up. Just looked like the dogs thought the sharks would be fun to catch. Probably too dumb to realize there was any danger.

What was with the walrus off to the side?

Not seen:

A spaceship, classification Firefly, hovers just out of frame. A voice booms out:
"Every shark there go back to deep water, or we will blow a new crater in this little beach."
