Even if the date is correct, my thinking is.... maybe the dude writing out the calendar just figured, "Hey, I'm 1000 years ahead, that should cover things for a while. My hand is cramped and I need a nap. I'm done. Someone else can pick up the job once this calendar runs out."

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."

Not if this year's election goes the way you want. The cycles are rather consistent.

I thought the best part of the story was: "Personally, I think the end of the world ended on December 20, 2002. That’s the day that Fox canceled Firefly."

Damn!!
I was looking forward to the end.

I thought the Twit-light fans would rise up after the end of their crappy 'saga' and go around biting everyone and infecting them with their disease. The world governments would then bring in the law that they must be dealt with 'appropriately' and we could all go around and stake them. Good times.

I'd be down for that...

Facts are stubborn things.
