*sigh* The writers need to tread very carefully here. They've done the "Castle freaks out because Alexis is going to be around boys" thing like 4 or 5 times already. Now they're bringing on a character to make that a recurring story line?

Dear Writers,

Fresh ideas please. That goes for the will they/won't they BS as well. They've ridden that for 2 seasons. Find a new horse or clear the time slot.

I dunno; there's "scaring away potential boyfriends" and there's "dealing with the boyfriend who won't get scared away." Much as Castle wants to protect his daughter, he has to respect her feelings; if she says the boy stays, he stays.

This could be interesting. Either Castle's gonna hate him or start to like him. And how would Alexis react if her beau and her dad start to hit it off?

Alexis probably knows her father very well. She would likely assume he is attempting to use reverse psychology if he appears to like her boyfriend. But if he really does like him then that could lead to some fun scenes.
