"Enemy Belligerent Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010"

Quote:

Whenever within the United States, its territories, and possessions, or outside the territorial limits of the United States, an individual is captured or otherwise comes into the custody or under the effective control of the United States who is suspected of engaging in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners through an act of terrorism, or by other means in violation of the laws of war, or of purposely and materially supporting such hostilities, and who may be an unprivileged enemy belligerent, the individual shall be placed in military custody for purposes of initial interrogation and determination of status in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
In other words... anyone, anywhere, who is even suspected of assisting hostilities against the United States, by any means including but not limited to terrorism, can be indefinitely jailed and interrogated by the military

I'm giving a special shout-out to my Republican friends on this one. If you're a real American, you'll oppose this.

And then when you read what constitutes terrorism according to the USPATRIOT Act - certain free software, Sea Shepherd - it gives you pause. If it doesn't, I'd wonder why.

BTW - this is exactly why I didn't like McCain. Can you imagine what he would have done if elected ? As for LIEberman, he needs to be voted out asap. Sad to say, it was republicans who voted him in, and from whom he gets most of his support. So I don't have much hope of that happening any time in the near future.

Ditto. Would have been scary if McCain/Palin won...especially Palin...but McCain is the one who would have been "BushLite"...if even THAT!

I was wanting to post about this yesterday , but was out of time...

I have hopes that there's a vacant tiger cage in Vietnam that still has his name on it...

It wouldn't take a lot of coin to send him back , and find a similar accomodation for his ZOG partner...

Signy , it 's worse than you know , by far...
More about it , later...

Bill has little chance of getting to the floor for a vote, and no chance of ever passing both Houses if it did get a vote.

RUE: Yeah. Terrorism? Does that mean... strikes? Boycotts? Economic sanctions of some sort? Honest discussion of a particular company's products, or stocks? Reverse engineeering? Benchmarking? (MS forbids the last three by their EULA.)

The whole definition of terrorism is just so friggin' loosey-goosey that ANY self-respecting American should oppose this.
