Any country music fans out there? After a lifetime of listening to mainly Rock & some Pop, I started to get hooked on Country about five years ago. My current favorite artists are:
Lady Antebellum
Zac Brown Band
Brooks & Dunn
Sugarland
Montgomery Gentry
Who are some of your favorites?

I'm not in a mean mood so I won't get all snarky, but that title leaves this thread wide open for generalizations about people "who love country music" as opposed to "who here loves country music?"

Not sure if they count as strictly "country", but they're definitely country-ISH. Call it roots, Americana, or what have you, but I love these:
Steve Earle
Dwight Yoakam
k.d. lang (I like her older stuff with The Reclines best)
James McMurtry
Chris Whitley
Son Volt
George Jones
The Gourds
Also, there's an Elvis Costello album, "Almost Blue" that's nothing but classic country standards ("Sweet Dreams", "A Good Year for the Roses", "Honey Hush", "Why Don't You Love Me (Like You Used To Do)?", etc.) I'd highly recommend it.

Work is the curse of the Drinking Class.

I didn't use to but my wife got me into it. I like a lot of Taylor Swift's stuff, Brad Paisley too, I'd say Brad's probably my favorite.
There's a few others but I can't think of artists or titles off the top of my head right now.
"Haha, mine is an evil laugh."

I see your point, but snark doesn't bother me if anyone wants to go that route.

I can't judge what counts and what doesn't. I like many of the artists you like, especially Dwight, George, and k.d.

Those two are perhaps the biggest stars in Country today. They both performed on the CMA's a few months ago. A friend of mine burned a DVD for me of that show, and I find myself watching it more often than I probably should.

I like my country music old, or at least old sounding: BR549, Merle Travis, Webb Pierce, Lefty Frizell...and most especially Merle Haggard. I would put Johny Cash in that category, but his cover of "Hurt" (Rick Rubin should be arrested for elder abuse for having produed that) still leaves me sour.
No patience for bad pop music with cowboy hats.
