Hey there, y'all. Mighty fine day for some roleplaying, wouldn't ya agree?

So for a while out my friends and I have been planning a roleplay in the 'verse. I mean the table top kind, too. I bought the books and the map, my friend printed off sheets and got information together. Looked like everything was rolling right along but, as Firefly luck holds, something ended up bouncing us off track and we couldn't recover.

However, by this point I'd gotten all excited about the prospect and, well, even had my friend Abbey's hopes worked sky high. So I promised her if we couldn't do a good old fashion table top, why not give this new fangled internet thing a try.

Brand New Ship, Brand New Crew
What we're hoping to do is get together a few people to pilot a new ship with us - The Cressida. She's a member of the Spencer-Dai company's line of cargo ships, dealing in completely legal, intersystems transportation. Also, might be that someone on board has been working with the now underground Browncoat rebellion after the Miranda tapes kicked in a small revivial of support. We don't want it to exactly mimic Srenity, and while they both wear Brown, the Cressida's crew (willing or not) are much more politically involved. Also, thanks to the legal work supplied to them through the company, they aren't in such a hard place as our favorite big damn heroes. Of course, the fact that they work mainly for the Alliance and Alliance friendly corporations makes life difficult in it's own ways.

I was going to GM the tabletop round, so I already have a few little adventures planned out. One thing we hope to do is create really fleshed out characters and relations, of course, but also make sure the game always has some sort of story to be told. We want chapters like episodes were there is a mission, something goes wrong, and people work together to get through instead of just floating out there in the black doing all of nothing.

What We're Looking For
We want a small, tight knitt group. Isn't that what we all love about Firefly in the first place? That feeling of family, even when that family is a bunch of misfits and runaways. Well, you don't have to be a misfit or a runaway - you just gotta be you. We're thinking we want to get some good writers who love being crazy and creative (often the same thing). Everyone will be welcomed to play one to three characters on the vessel and, of course, we hope everyone will equally help with the plotting and what have you. We're going for a real 'telling stories around the camp fire' feel, if you know what I mean.

If you like the sound of this at all, we'd love it if you gave us a shout. We really are hoping to make up a fine little group where everyone gets say in the story. With that in mind, you're welcome to create your own place on the ship. However, if you're wondering what kind of positions we might suggest, here's a good starting point:
