My web design class is for shit since the instructor obviously hates (or is clueless about) teaching. Big problem is, he's the instructor for five of my remaining six classes.
Fuck him, I'm out.
And now I'm depressed.
Life is a waste. Maybe I need to leave this fucked up world.
Except... I love my Wife & my Son...
I'm still more creative than most studio execs...
I have a drive to beat the crap out of obstacles...
I'm a lover AND a fighter!!!!
Better now.
Next?

So depressed?
Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel " pick up
your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the
promised land".
Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said, " Lay down your shovels, sit on your
asses, and light up a camel, this is the promised land".
Now Obama has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of
camels and mortgaged the promised land!
I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy,
the wars, lost jobs, Savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc . . .
I called Lifeline. Got a call center in Pakistan . I told them I was suicidal.
They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck....

Oh, wait, that's lover and sinner. Sorry.
Is there another instructor? Another school?
Best of luck and hang in there.

There are other web design classes out there.
try a different college. Life is short man, and you have every right to enjoy what you do for a living.

There are always "that instructor" no matter where you go, no matter what department, no matter... They are just a fact of life. In fact, most of them (if not all) are "known issues" where they work. But, academic freedom has been perverted (through unions) to protect them.
With that said, they are considered by everyone that I have studied/worked with as "weeding out instructors." In other words, if you can't get through that/those class(es) and bail, then you have been weeded out as someone without enough drive/etc to make it in the real world.
(Aside: My 3rd year Intro to Quantum Mechanics Prof was one of this type. He also had the thinking that his was the only class the students were taking and "appropriately" assigned assignments to that assumption. Hell, a year or two after me, he was behind teaching and assigned a BIG assignment on the last day of classes to be due at the final. You can imagine the extra work load and his popularity among the students.)
It really sucks that this guy is going to be such a bother to you (5 of 6 classes can only be described as a tragedy). However, if you hate him that much, then just stop going to class and learn it on your own (I've done that). Or go to class, but only 1/2 be there. As in, find something else (productive) to do and 1/2 listen; use his lectures as getting sign posts of what to learn on your own. Study groups are excellent for this sort of thing.
In other words, if you want that piece of paper, suck it up. Just try to imagine it as training for *when* you get that pointy haired boss.

Ok that is unfortunate Chris Ol' buddy but nil desperandum Pal.
See what you can extract from this course and thereafter where ever there are gaps, teach yourself. I recall you taught yourself Tai Chi right...? You can I'm sure teach yourself a few software packages.
If you reach an impass let me know - perhaps I can help with a few things. I'm familiar with most of the Adobe range and a few others too.
In terms of feeling depressed. Here's the ticket:
First Listen to:
Crockets Theme from Miami Vice - This provides time for nostalgia and reflectivity....
Secondly:
The Opening theme to Miami Vice - This will make you feel invincible, and inspite of the minor side affect of wanting to roll up your sleeves and wear espadrilles - you'll be able to face the world with renewed vigour!
Must be in that order. (Give it a try)

I second that. Find some like-minded folks in your class and work together. I had to do that in an Econ class long ago where the instructor was R.I.P. (Retired In Place) and spent most of his lecture time complaining about President Johnson.
