Daredevil was good, not great. Jennifer Garner was great, Elektra was OOOH-Kaaaaay.

Didn't know so many of those were comic books.
I'd add Sin City and 300 to my list, still under Steve Austin tho.

I guess I can also add Phantom (w/ Billy Zane, Larry Drake) and Catwoman.
And wasn't Transformers a comic? And superheroes to boot.

but Superman 4 just sucks

Look, Superman IV is gutter trash, but at least the costume is right (and it's Reeve). Superman returns, while much better produced & directed, just totally loses me with whole speedo-brief/murky-coloured/rubber-cape/choking-collar thing. Honestly, I'd have more fun watching IV. But then, they're both crap, really.

EDIT: I wrote that last post badly anyway- I hated SIV, & both Returns.

Eh, the costume wasn't great, but I didn't hate it. That, I consider it one of the least important aspects. It's not a classic film, but I thought it was pretty decent. Had some subtext, and is more proficiently made than many superhero flicks.

Sin City = superb cinematographic, bestest 'film noir' flic of all time.
The Incredibles = A derivative of Fantastic Four, of course, but it was delightfully funny and entertaining. And I always had a thing for Elastigirl (huh, must be that nubile & bendy thingy).

The only subtext I could see was that a little piece of Kryptonite can kill Superman, but paradoxically, a continent-sized chunk just puts him in a temporary coma, and takes a real LOOOOOOG time to do it.

If that's the only subtext you could see, maybe you should have taken your eyes off the speedo from time to time.

Oh yeah, YOU try not looking at something that horrifies YOU in a movie.
Subtext, please. Superman IV had a subtext too- but neither movie is good enough that I'd care to, even for a moment, waste my free time entertaining the IDEA of actually firing up the 4 brain cells needed to discuss it.

Wanna talk subtext in Dark Angel?
