I know I've been busy and distracted, but did nobody note the 4th anniversary of the release of Serenity? Or did i miss it?

We could celebrate with a game, the same 6 Degrees game, but this time connecting to the only Joss Whedon directed film (Serenity) or one of the 4 TV shows created by him: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, or Dollhouse. Any performer appearing in any of those 5 productions counts as the final link. No links within any other TV shows count, only films (or available videos). TV movies are okay.

Example of the maximum 6 degrees, other answers can be less than 6 degrees.
Arnold Schwartzenegger.
1. Arnold in End of Days with Gabriel Byrne.
2. Gabriel Byrne in Point of No Return with Bridget Fonda.
3. Bridget Fonda in Lake Placid with Brendan Gleason.
4. Brendan Gleason in Braveheart with Mel Gibson.
5. Mel Gibson in Payback with Gregg Henry.
6. Gregg Henry in Firefly episode "The Train Job"

Solver proposes next target:
Thora Birch.

Well, I thought that one would be easy, about 3 degrees.
If nobody gets it, I'll post the first connection (that I've conjured).

Totally didn't see this thread XP

1. Thora Birch in American Beauty with Kevin Spacey.
2. Kevin Spacey in A Bug's Life written and directed by John Lasseter
3. John Lasseter director of Toy Story, wrote screenplay in conjunction with Joss Whedon.

Did I get that right? or partially right?

Works for me.

Cher!

1.Cher in Witches of Eastwood with Susan Sarandon
2.Susan Sarandon in Elizabethtown with Orlando Bloom
3.Orlando Bloom in Wilde with Stephen Fry
4.Stephen Fry in Castle with Nathan Fillion
5.Nathan Fillion.. try picking something he *hasn't* done with Joss Whedon.

Someone else might be able to get this one in fewer steps.

*edit*
EastWICK. Eastwood is a local neighborhood. Silly me.

I don't see anything connecting Stephen Fry (V for Vendetta) with Nathan Fillion via Castle....

He played a psychologist who studies serial killers and is an old friend of Booth's... Oh shit, wrong series I got Bones confused with Castle because I watched them on the same night.

I lose!

Wait! Technically I got it because of David Boreanatz and Angel. Ok, now I feel an iota less silly, but not much.

Your offering a name (Thora Birch) to tie forward to Joss is good, but the idea is someone who has to be tied SIX times; Free and Mangolo got it in only three. Not much of a challenge.

But someone has to offer the name, Rose; you picked your own name (unfair, how do we know you just didn't backtrack from Joss?). Try suggesting someone out of the hat without backtracking from Joss, and they have to do it in six degrees.

To make it a fair challenge you really need the six degrees, or picking someone who's at least more than three degrees separate. Three is too easy to spot.

Now, a REAL challenge would be to tie the person BACK TO THEMSELVES in six degrees. So it would be:

1. Joss Whedon & ___________
2. ___________ & ___________
3. ___________ & ___________
4. ___________ & ___________
5. ___________ & ___________
6. ___________ & Joss Whedon

Tried for a bit, but it's not that easy and I gave up. If you're willing to take the time, tho', it can probably be done...
