I thought it was totally "meh."
Okay rental, but I'll likely never watch it again.
Even the FX were sub-par.
It made me appreciate Elektra more, though!

Pretty lame. Script felt more like a pile of studio notes squished into a script, rather than a story that needed to be told. Jackman's still good, and I really liked Schrieber at Victor.... but that's about it. Still (slightly) better than Elektra, though. ;)
Hoping the sequel will be better, with Chris McQuarrie working on the script, and Bryan Singer possibly coming back to produce.

Quote:The Christophe Beck music & the red outfit make Elektra win out for me, personally.

Still, both are just FX/fight scene drenched semi-movies.

Don't even remember the music. The red outfit is hot and all.... but hardly enough to make me look past every other single element of the film sucking.

Comletely agree. Was okay for one watch and that was about it. A mate wanted me to watch this at the cinema when it first appeared. I'm so glad I didn't and trusted my instincts.
I wonder what this holds for other origin stories though? Surely Wolverine is the only character to really hold any interest for someone who doesn't know the comics (myself being one of them). I personally couldn't find myself interested in any other character to see a whole movie about them.

They're still planning to do the Magneto origin movie, which I think could be interesting. Then they're supposedly going to start shooting X-Men: First class in the spring, which will feature Cyclops, Jean, Beast and Xavier forming the team. They're still developing a Deadpool solo flick, though that may be dead with Reynolds playing Green Lantern.

How is Wolverine compared to the disappointment of only one Hugh Jackman shirtless scene in Australia?

Prequels make me sleepy.
