Personally, I've seen Serenity about 50 times by now, and each ep of the series about 20...so for me, it's the movie.

I'm a newbie (3 months wear on my Browncoat): I've seen all the episodes twice, and a couple of them three or four times. I've seen Serenity twice, and a few scenes more times. Hopefully I'll respond again when I'm a more established fan. :D

I am a purist: I watch the entire thing from the Battle, through Serenity.
As far as I'm concerned it is a linked chain that shall remain unbroken.

There is nothing either good, nor bad. Yet thinking makes it so.

I've seen the BDM about 20 times, and I've seen the episodes about 40-50 times each, with a couple of my favorites probably seen about 75+ times.

It has to be the seris for me. Lost count to be honest of how many times it has been watched.

Generally at weekends, when the ale has been flowing for a short while.

Just bought the HD version of the BDM so that has to be watched next.

It has to be the series.

I've lost count how many times I've watched it over the past 4-5 years though. There's a select few eps that I'll watch more than others. OMR, and OIS for example.

There's always an episode to fit one's mood.

The BDM was cinematically released on my birthday, making it the best present ever, but the series is what really captured my heart.

Interesting, a pattern is forming. It seems peeps like to relive the good times mostly. "Serenity" is certainly a dark turning point, clearly one most responding so far visit less frequently.

There is dark, and light in Serenity.
Losing Book, and Wash was a hard thing; but Simon, and Kaylee, plus River's recovery/evolution, and Inara's return "temper" the loss imo.

Definitely the series. THis is where the characters are really developed and where they have time to show the interactions.

Movies a little too holywood formula-matic for me, besides taking the story in a direction that no longer interests me, never did.

I'm like Texarcana, I always watch the series in order, followed by all the extra features, then watch Serenity. But considering I had watched the series 15 to 20 times before the BDM was released, the series wins out on total views. That won't change because I prefer the series to the movie, although there are parts of Serenity that are truly inspired.

I actually am not sure. When I'm going to really watch me some firefly I usually mix a few of the episodes capped off with the BDM. Of course this is on nights when I don't have to work the next day and there is some "milk" involved ya know??!

I'm like a few of the others, I mostly try to watch it all evenly, and will often watch it through from the pilot to the film. It just works so well that way. Can't say I've watched it as many times as some people on here (75+? DAMN!) because I quite often like to not watch any for a few months, then revisit it, as it makes it all the more special when you haven't seen it for ages.

All this said, in total, I've seen the series more times, simply because the film came out later, and, of course, reruns of the series are more frequent than TV screenings of the film.

I own both on DVD and Blu. I love them both, although I do prefer the series, but I don't favour one or the other. It's all shiny.

Easier for me to watch a specific episode, depending on which mood I'm in. But I try not to watch either, on purpose,too often. It's all we are likely to get, and I wanna not ever get tired of seeing either too much.

I'm with Frem (and others). The series is where all the magic is. Serenity is a bridge to the next chapter is our BDH lives.

I've seen the series about 35-40 times (give or take a few times) and the movie about 20 times.
When I'm feeling down - the series; when I'm in a good mood - the BDM. I find that the series cheers me up; the BDM - not so much. But the movie offers something completely different and I often find myself thinking of where the series would have picked up.

Then I'm sad again, which brings us back to the series, you know, for the cheering up part. It's all good though - they will fly again.

I have lost count how many times i have watched them. I usually watch at least one episode or the movie every week.Sometimes on my day off I will do a marathon of shows then end with the movie.Funny how every time I watch them I still see something new.

I saw the movie in theaters 3 times and a lot since but I have to say I watch the series more. My boyfriend hadn't seen the series but only the movie so we actually took a Saturday and watched the entire series. He loved it.

I tend to agree with you there, Chuck has grown on me.

Think I've mentioned before that I think Dark Angel seris one is excellent. Added to these is Briscoe County and then a possible film fest of some description.

But I aways come back to Firefly.

I've gotta find me something new: BSG has wrapped, and I find because I tend to ignore the TV I get behind on what's new.
I'll be farmin' in here (the site) for everyone's recommendations on what is shiny, and what is not.
Other than Firefly, and BSG I tend to head for Epsilon Eridani to accomplish diplomatic missions on Babylon 5.

I don't know the numbers, but They might be even. Saw BDM before the series. Tend to slip in the BDM for Maidenhead and My Turn scenes. Might be Serenity Pilot is my most watched. Out of Gas, Ariel, and The Train Job are up there, too.

Depending on mood I[ll watch what fits the day. OIS is always good, OMR when in a funny mood, TJ most any time. Have to say I like them all at different times. Wishing there was more but that doesn't look likely.

I'm actually not completely fond of the movie. It's a great, but there are all of the signature little crew moments that are missing, among a few other things (lack of Hawaiian shirts and silk waistcoats are two). The show was a study of humanity, nine people on a boat, living in close contact, scraping by. Joss had a way of showing all of the intimate moments between everyone, how the crew worked together as an unconventional family unit, and that's sorely missed in the movie.

Most often watched episodes:
-Out of Gas: Great origins episode
-Jaynestown: "I reattached a girl's leg once... her whooole leg. 'Named her hamster after me."
"Hamsters is nice."
-Shindig: "Are you in pain?"
"Absolutely. I got stabbed, you know, right here."
-Safe: Great River & Simon episode
-The Message: "Oh my god, it's grotesque! Oh, and there's something in a jar"
-Our Mrs. Reynolds: "You don't play a player."

I think it is about even. I watched the series several times, then watched the movie several times. Now I make it an annual ritual to watch the series and the movie right before Dragon*Con.

Actually, the movie might have the edge because of CSTS. They're fixin' to show Dr. Horrible this year. wOOt!

The series. I have a number of objections to the movie... but the main one when considering this question is that the movie feels like it ends in 2 hours (duh) while the series feels like it could just keep going and going and going...

Definatly the Series. While I joined our noble ranks through the movie, there's just something about the series.
