Tonight's Fringe ep did not disappoint. It picked up right where it left off. Now that's good writing, also Anna Torv is my new goddess.

I can't believe I didn't make the connection between the kid and the Observer.

Hopefully they'll get more into the "impending extradimensional war" arc.

I kind of picked on the kid and the Observer part right away. He had no hair, was pale, and an empath. Sounded too obvious. But I didn't mind because it gave us more into who the Observer was. He's not fully unique, and the CIA wants him or someone like him. Interesting.

I'm also excited for more of the Walter story line that they introduced in the previous episode. Curious to see how that turns out.

I would have liked it even more if I had been able to see the last 10 minutes. For some reason the crappy show that proceeds it ran over into my recording. I only saw up to the part where Olivia confronted the Artist. I did notice the connection between the boy and the Observer but I don't understand how the CIA knows anything about either of them. Guess I missed that part.

Watched it. Loved it. This show has never disappointed me. I am sure it will have a long and wonderful life. Now if they put Dollhouse right after it they would have a second series with good ratings.

Olivia asked Broyles for a favor. Broyles tells the CIA agent that the kid somehow escaped and Olivia contacts the doctor as the hospital to have the kid taken to a loving family.

I suspect that we have not seen the last of our friends the Observer and the Kid.

This show ROCKS!

ME! ME! I'm glad it's back! Very glad!

If for no other reason than to see Walter dancing with his neuro helmet to ease the kid's mind.

There was one spot of disappointment for me. The weekly experiment, this time, trying to help the kid exercise his speech centers, didn't work, and they didn't go out of their way to find out why. That doesn't seem right, really. I mean, yes, it was helpful in finding out that the kid was in touch with Olivia empathically...but, please, in the name of pseudo science...find out for certain, Walter! That's not like him at all!

I can't say I am. I never could get into it. It felt too much like an x-files rip but without any of the charm of the x-files.

I don't care for the show. I couldn't get into it either, but then again, I don't care for Dollhouse.

And I'm sure you've heard the news already, but Leonard Nimoy joined the series, which in itself is a major coup for JJ Abrams in terms of earning kudos points within the sci-fi fan community.

It's probably debatable, but of the original Star Trek cast members, I believe Nimoy is more well regarded than Shatner. So for Nimoy to come back to Hollywood and be back on television simply because he respects JJ Abrams and his work says a great deal about how much weight JJ Abrams has in Hollywood in getting things made the way he wants without interference from studio executives.

If you recall, this is the guy whose first series was 'Felicity.'

I'll keep Joss Whedon out of this thread, but if you recall my comments on SU about directors and where they're at in their career, this is a good example.

You and me both. I was stunned at the end of the episode, but then I was like, "Awww, this is gonna get COOL!"

One of the better episodes of Fringe I've seen, and one of the best episodes of network television I've seen in quite some time. Screw Dollhouse - I want more FRINGE!!

For free. Free is good.

That's how I had to see it, because my DVR recorded the hour slot where it was SUPPOSED to be, and cut off early because of that horrible American Karaoke show.

I'm with you and thinking along the same lines.
This is major for Abrams and yes, Nimoy is highly regarded in the Sci-Fi H'wood circles, both fans and movie moguls. Major Coup!

Actually, it didn't pick up anywhere near where it left off. It left off with Olivia possibly having special abilities and Walter having realized he wrote a manifesto about technology, then picked up with a standard case and no mention of their discoveries. A good episode, but not where it left off at all.
