Episode: Trash.

The scene where shuttle 2 detaches from firefly and touches down on rich guy's little floating compound.

Look carefully in the background and you will see, flying from right to left, in a slightly diagonal flight path...

An SR-71 Blackbird, or something that looks an awful lot like one.

Someone in the CGI department havin a bit of fun with us, I suppose.

I noticed that too. Plenty of little sight gags in the series. Have you spotted the T-16 Skyhopper yet?

There was, unfortunately, a pretty blatant flaw on that ep's effects, though. The shuttle on the left takes off with Mal and Saffron on board, to infiltrate the rich guy's household.

Soon after, while Mal's still on the air-island with said shuttle, we see Serenity snuggling up to the underside of the trash container... and viewed from the left side, docked just above the ship's wing pylon, there's the same shuttle that Mal and Saffron took.

D'oh!

History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it merely shouts "Weren't you listening the first time?!?" and lets fly with a club.
