ok so we know Book and Wash are gone, rest in peace. Serenity needs at least one more person in their crew, River will do a commendable job as the new pilot, there still has to be a new philosophical and knowledgable crew member. I think that the alliance operative is an interesting enough character that he could settle things with Mal and become the newest member of Serenity.
