Posting because I had to share what over 14 hours, and one skein of yarn, and some led battery powered motion sensative lights and a hairbrained idea, resulting in a lot of mathmatical calculations can get you:

Yes you read correctly, LIGHTS

The idea for this came after reviewing pictures of the beach shindig where we made a serenity sandcastle, while I was supposed to be packing for dragoncon (yay for procrastination!). Actual work on this began shortly I returned from DragonCon.

Eventually yes, i will be posting the notes I took while making it, as soon as I decipher what I wrote!

Lovely, absolutely. Maybe next time you can try different types of yarn to put in detail. Just wondering if it's stuffed. Oh to be able to knit, never could learn, didn't have the patience. And great trick with the lights. Do go put this up in The Blue Sun room if you haven't yet, and be prepared for pattern orders.
Baby shower gift, how great.

:) Despite being a member here for 3 years, and a lurker before that, I never did learn how to post things in the bluesun room :)
umm as for a bluesun cat, I have a three legged cat who sat in my lap for part of the ships creation, does she count? Or perhaps my diabetic siamese cross kitty, he is has the "blue" (grey) coloring... he kept trying to eat the yarn while i worked.
yes it is stuffed with the extra stuffing removed from a reclining chair.
Originally I had planned to embroider the fine details on it or switch yarns, but after over 14 hours of labor, I just wanted to stuff it and light it up. more detail may be added later, but embroidery is not my forte, and I have not figured out intarsia knitting quite yet.
