BrownCoats in Minnesota

I first found some Minnesota Browncoats on Meetup.com, but they're being run by a super leftwing moonbat manhater, so I'm wondering if there are any Browncoats in Minnesota that realize the show was pointing out how retarded Big Government can be, especially in regards to the prevelance of the left-wing dogma thought police that believe they can make people better by making them less aggressive. I don't hold to that and I'm hoping there are others in my area that don't either. Would be glad to meet up at the Source in St. Paul with like-minded folks.

I don't know about meetup.com but MN Firefly has grown into a thriving forum. We do support and run the Can't Stop The Serenity event at Riverview Theater, I hazard a guess that might make us manhater's according to some people's views.
We're also running a Serenity party room at CONvergence in July. Not sure if that qualifies as non-moonbatty.

CONs are not moonbatty, it's the leftard dogma that gets spewed at them sometimes that irritates me. My hubby and I attended a gathering for Chinese New Year, and I was having a blast with the gamers, when my hubby came and asked me if we could leave. Seems that he was conversationally accosted by someone who had a dislike for gamers and conservatives. We haven't gone to any more gatherings since.

I realize not all of them were wingnuts, but when the person in charge takes such a perverse and abusive stand, I'm more likely to stay away than bother to waste my time in an argument. I do not run the Minnesota Browncoats but I am the person who put the group and the shindig notice up on meetup.com.
I am saddened to hear that you had a bad time. I am also surprised to hear about your concerns a good 5 months after the shindig occurred. Have you been harboring your pain for all this time? What caused you to bring the event on this forum now?
Does your husband remember whom he talked to? Was it I? Don't remember having a political discussion (I am usually apolitical myself) but the event was a long time ago.
Perhaps we could talk about what upset your husband so much that he felt he had to leave. If you both are willing to do that, I bet that we can work this out.

I can say what I want, it's a free country and I can ask however I want to find like-minded people, just like there can be a manhater group with their sigil online asking for people who lean their direction. If I don't plainly state "I'm not interested in hanging out with obsessive left-wingers" then they might get their feelings hurt if an argument arises.

He said it was a couple of women in the basement. He was watching "Our Mrs. Reynolds" on the bigscreen and someone just started laying into gamers,(I was upstairs gaming at the time) He said they quieted down when he mentioned *he* was a gamer. Then he said this gray haired lady started in on Bill Oreilly as if it had anything to do with the show. He felt uncomfortable enough in the atmosphere that he knew our best bet was to leave.
