I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this, if it's been posted before I apologize. I find it weird that Jubal Early was played by the same guy that played the main villain in the highly forgettable Crow: City of Angels and his name was Judah Earle. Yeah Jubah Early = Judah Earle......makes you wonder if it was intentional

isn't he also the cop in drive in the opening episode?

Richard Brooks also played "Detective Ehrle" in Nathan Fillion's late great series "Drive".

I'm pointin' right at it!

Yeah and his name is something like Erhle or some other crazy play on Early.

The international movie database lists the character in Crow City of Angels as "Judah Earl". That's not quite Earle, but pretty close.

I think it's just a freak coincidence. Joss said that he was influenced to name Early when Nathan told him he was a decendent of the real Jubal Early.(confederate army general)
Now the fact that Richard Brooks played "Detective Ehrle" in Drive is surely no coincidence at all. I think it's pretty obvious that there's a nod to Firefly there.
Do not fear me. Our's is a peaceful race and we must live in harmony.
