Just caught the last episode on TNT this morning, and a thought occurred to me. I'm sure it's been brought up before, but oh well...

When Angel bit Marcus Hamilton, and sucked in some of the ancients' power, how long does that 'charge' last ? He took care of Hamilton fairly quickly, so did he have enough to carry him through the final battle ? Did the power of the ancients run through ALL those monsters too ? Or were they more or less 'as is', and only Angel was super charged? Marcus was a bit cockey in his statement, saying he could not be defeated.
People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

I've heard a theory that Angel being charged up like that is how they would have made it out of the alley. That the blood of the Wolf, Ram and Hart being in his veins would give him some sort of power over the army of the senior partners. Or that he'd just be juiced up and kick their ass. I'm guessing the demons in the alley were just demons - Hamilton was special because he was the conduit to the senior partners.
By the way, do we still have to do spoilers for Angel? The series ended along time ago...

Wow, I wasn't the only one up at seven this morning.

What I wonder is the ramifications this will have. If the effects of Hamilton's blood are permanent, will this start to change Angel? Maybe it could allow Angelus to have more control over him.

It really could have led to plenty of cool story lines. Like maybe Angel would have a direct connection to the senior partners. Just like cordy and her connection to the powers that be. Or it could have been something they wanted angel to do. Maybe the blood would start to corrupt him from the inside out or give them some control over his actions. They could go a lot of different ways with it. Though it's most likely that it was just a temporary charge and there would be no real long term effects.

Just joking around, how does blood leave a vampire's system? Do Angel and Spike regularly go to the toilet to get rid of old, spent blood? Or does it just vanish? The Hamilton blood question could have given us an interesting insight into vampire physiology in the Buffyverse...

Well, I'm usually up earlier than that, but I overslept....
Just a nice "coincidence" that it was the last episode too, huh? Select to view spoiler:
I never figured that the 'charge' would be permanent. Eventually, Angel is going to have to feed again, and when he does, he'll need new blood. I just figured it was like having a really good meal, maybe one spiked w/ a super energy drink. Or something. But then again....maybe not!

Am I the only one that got this out of that scene:

I never figured Angel got any sort of "charge" from Hamilton. When Angel says "Wow, you really are full of it." It sounded sarcastic to me, like he was just full of sh**. What i interpreted was that Angel just got his confidence back to kick his ass, due to Hamilton's blood being no different than anything else.
Am I alone in this?

He meant it both ways, I think. It did give him the confidence, but he definitely got a "charge" from Hamilton's blood for real. Yep, Jayne got his ass kicked by a pretty boy. Wash would've found that almost as hilarious as him getting beat up by a 90 lb. girl!
