In the new BUFFY/ANGEL mag. I guess I missed that that was the idea in ANGEL. I thought he was hanging out with (bothering) Giles in England and he sent him to "take care of things" in L.A. to get him off his back. I know that Andrew's good now, but it seems odd that Giles or Buffy would really trust him with that much responsibility just a few months later.

Please don't spoil me on the details of the comic since I haven't gotten mine yet. I'm just wondering if some facts were changed or if this was the idea all along and I simply didn't get it.

I would say that the Buffy/Angel magazine got it wrong... they are really not the best source for factual information....

So you think Joss was misquoted or what he said was taken out of context or something? It was an interview with him.

later on in the season of Angel, both Angel and Spike went to italy for Bussiness/Buffy. Andrew was there as well. If your read season 8. The new Buffy book from Dark Horse Comics, written by Joss hisself, there is a couple mentions of Andrew in Italy. If you are even a casual fan I highly recommend this book. Issue 1 out now.

frequently this magazine calls something an 'interview' which is actually bits of quotes pulled from other magazines (people at Whedonesque have pointed this out)
so yeah, I think they watched Angel s5 and saw Andrew in LA and they decided that Andrew was taking over the LA branch of slayers...
even though we SAW him in Rome later...

so yeah, I think the magazine made it up and/or got it wrong.
