Morena to star in new TNT pilot

I don't know if this has been posted already, I couldn't find it anywhere so thought I'd share. Not much information just the cast announcement with the lovely Morena listed.

TNT's 'Heartland' cast set

Treat Williams, last seen playing a doctor on The WB's "Everwood," will don a lab coat again to play the lead doctor in the TNT pilot "Heartland," written by Mt. Lebanon native David Hollander ("The Guardian").

The proposed series is set in the transplant surgery community, and Williams will play a transplant surgeon. Other actors in lead roles include Kari Matchett ("Invasion"), Danielle Nicolet ("Second Time Around") and Morena Baccarin ("Firefly").

"Heartland" is tentatively set in Pittsburgh, but that could change. Regardless, Hollander said Williams' character "is an insane Pittsburgh sports fan, if nothing else."

It will be nice to see Morena again. Although I suspect her costumes will be slightly less lovely than Inara's.

And in other casting news, YoSaffBridge has landed a pilot on AMC. It also stars an Angel alum.

AMC 'Mad' for original drama series

AMC has greenlighted its first original drama series, giving a 13-episode order to "Mad Men." In addition, Lionsgate has come aboard to produce the hourlong show, which is created, written and executive produced by Matthew Weiner ("The Sopranos"). It's set to debut on the cable network in June. "Mad Men" follows the personal and professional lives of New York advertising execs circa 1960. The show stars Jon Hamm ("We Were Soldiers") as Don Draper, a fast-rising creative director whose smooth exterior conceals secrets. January Jones ("American Wedding"), Elisabeth Moss ("The West Wing"), Vincent Kartheiser ("Angel"), Christina Hendricks ("Kevin Hill") also star in the series, along with guest star John Slattery ("K Street").
