I was just thinking...

The folk singer in Jaynestown has on some very odd-looking headgear. It's not exactly clear in the screen caps I've seen, but it seems like a cross between a pretty floral bonnet and a gumby-style knotted handkerchief.

Sure doesn't look like it would do much to keep the rain off your head, or keep you warm on a chilly evening.

What's up with that?

Television Without Pity, I believe it was,
described the chapeau in question as resembling
(or possibly actually *being*) a floor-mop.
As in the old rag-mop style, I assume.

There are other strange styles of headwear in
the episode. Take your eyes off the beautiful
BDHs and look at the extras. Odd stuff.
Somebody may have been smoking something...

You gotta admit, it would explain certain episodes in the Joss-verse ("Band Candy" from Buffy comes to mind). Then again, a non-drug-related theory would be that Joss just has an uncommon mind. Which we all know and love.

In truth, the more I look at the thing
the more I wonder if the use of it isn't
the result of a bet.

Between whom, one can only guess. Possibly
no Joss involvement except a final okay.

But who knows? Many aspects of the
Jossmind remain mysterious.
