Is anyone else reminded of a certain captain's speech in the glamor scene in the last show...if I'm correct on the time line they were probably written about the same time..both well written

The movie was filmed at a pretty quick pace, if memory serves me. Finished shooting in Aug, 2004, and was set to open originally May 2005?

Not Fade Away aired May 19th, 2004. So certainly, a working script for SERENITY easily could have been around at the shoot time of Angel's finale. Pretty sure shooting started around that time for SERENITY. So good call!
