Firefly Takes #5 on IGN's Top 25 TV Shows on DVD

The well-respected DVD division of the media website IGN recently posted its list of the Top 25 TV Shows on DVD, and in it, Firefly is named as the fifth best TV show available on DVD. If you ask me, it should have been listed at number one, but to each his own. The description from the list at IGN follows:

5. Firefly - The Complete Series - This boxed set is a must-own for any fan of Joss Whedon. The series, mangled by FOX in promotions and aired totally out of order, lives and breathes on these discs. The special features are aplenty for a series with only 15 episodes: commentaries on eight episodes, a gag reel, deleted scenes, and several very well done behind-the-scenes featurettes.

Also sure to please Joss Whedon fans is the fact that they list Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Chosen Collection at #2. The page in the list that shows Firefly and Buffy can be found here.

At HMV (okay, just in Calgary) Firefly's been number 4 for sales for three months running, I think. The evidence keeps piling up, and eventually a network or Universal will catch on.

This all bodes well.

I think a little chaos is in order.

I say YAY! although I do agree it should be listed as #1.

A cancelled show, this many years later, doing this well?

Agreed! Some of the guys at the tv money companies (can ya tell I'm not in the biz?) really need to open their gorran eyes.

When was it shown? 2002/2003? And still selling massively? Out selling the Simpsons, and 24, and Lost?

I'm not going to use the finger smiley, for I am a peaceful being. But I am sick of all this evidence mounting up in the corner of "Why firefly is a Good Idea", and nobody paying any attention.
