donnie darko is an awsome film by richard kelly. its oddly a little about god and time travel.
Someday the verse will spit in your soup but at least they gave you soup.

Yeah, that was a pretty cool flick. Did you see the theatrical, or director's cut? I havn't seen the Director's cut yet, but I hear it explains much more than the theatrical (which some fans were not pleased about).

Great movie! I'd have to say - I like the original better than the director's cut. Sometimes their is a reason the stuff didn't make it into the original.

Im not a donnie Darko fan. It's trying to be too clever for its own good. It's the same as Fight Club. People say 'oh its about mental health and schizophrenia'. Ok so stop trying to be clever and spell it out. If I wanna watch a film about mental health ill watch a Robin Williams film or Rain Man. I do not rate the film. the actor is much better in Jarhead. I can buy Donnie Darko on DVD for the price of a Big Mac. It cant be that good

So, price and popularity dictate the quality of something for you? You let others decide what is good? Sad...
I liked Donnie Darko, I liked Fight Club, I liked Rain Man... YOu want the movie to "spell things out" but really, why should it? Life isn't that simple and sometimes we like plot and entertainment to go along with the ideas being presented.

I never let people decide what I like. I am not a person who wears an iPod because everybody else does. I don't want the best mobile phone because everybody else has the latest model. I cannot stand the establishment and in fact I cannot stand the majority of the general public because they are sheep. I don't let society and the media dictate and mold my opinions, likes and desires. I am my own man. The Bic Mac comment was a flip, tongue in cheek remark. I can in fact buy any number of really good movies on DVD for the price of a Big Mac. I am not a person who likes Donnie Darko because everybody else thinks it is cool. Just because a film is trying to be clever does not make it a good film.
For example The Cell with J.LO. Awful film trying to be too clever. I don't like Donnie Darko, that is my opinion and you should respect it. You like it, that does not mean you are a bad person. I am not judging you I am judging the film. However you have judged me on my opinion.
I like ALL Star Wars films, yes including Phantom Menace and Clones. The majority of people hate them and constantly slate them. That's fine by me that's their opinion and they are entitled to it. Does not stop me from liking them.
