Firefly price (especially on Amazon)

I recently watched the entire series & Serenity w/ a friend of mine and would like to get my own copy of Firefly. I've had it on my Amazon wishlist for about 2 weeks and I've noticed the price has been fluctuating quite a bit. I think it was about $29.99 last week, dropped amazingly to $19.98 this afternoon but went up to $24.96 this evening. Is this normal for Firefly pricing on Amazon? Should I get it now or will it possibly go back to $20?

I say get it now. It is currently at the same price I managed to get it for last year and at under $25 it is a steal. Throw in the free shipping(if you can wait a few days longer) and you can't go wrong. I still can't believe they were letting it go for under $20 earlier today. That must have created a feeding frenzy because Firefly is now at #2 on their bestsellers list.

One of my co-workers broke down and bought it at FYE earlier in the week for around $35. When I told him how cheap it was at Amazon he just shrugged his shoulders. I've never seen any store selling the set for less than $30. So like I said in the beginning get it now, I can't see them dropping the price any lower in the near future.

Buy it. It's a bargain at that price. When I was shopping for mine I noticed that the only place that had the Box DVDs cheap was Walmart a while back online, at like $19.95 or something like that, and were selling them out... THEN, checking back in they had raised the price back up to $35... It's got to be a short price drop if you see it that low at under $20 so go for it. I wound up settling for $27.95 (I think it was) at FYE online, but I had to have it and was trying to save some $$ at the time. Anywhere else it's been much higher, and again, hit and miss out of stock..

...use of a swhat??

It's normal for Firefly on Amazon. I'm guessing it would have to get back into the Top 10 to return to $20. And keep in mind that, within the USA, Amazon offers free shipping in orders over US$25. Not an issue if you want to buy another DVD as well but, if you only want Firefly, $24.95 on Amazon isn't much cheaper than $29.95

i got my 4 dvd boxset(special edition) for £11.34, don't know what that is in u.s money, but it's the best money i ever spent.

Wow I bought mine the week it came out, many, many moons ago and it was $49.99. It was pricey but when I saw it I was thrilled, as I recall I shrieked like a little girl. I hadn't any idea it was going to be released on DVD considering how quickly it was canceled but there it was and again I don't regret it at all. Are the disks any different from the first ones released? Is the intro we saw on sci-fi included on them? Thanks all and buy it high or low just buy it.

Were I there during the War of Unification I would have been an Alliance Patriot, but I would have run guns for the Browncoats. No I am not a greedy baby eating monster! Gunrunning would have been the patriotic thing to do.

The German Firefly set is about 60 US dollars, PERIOD. That's an horrendous amount of money for half a season. On amazon.co.uk, Firefly is 22 bucks.
60. 22. What for? The bad German dubbing? Because that's about the only difference (no German subs, either).

Hey Agatsu. You already found out yourself: the german version of Firefly has so little in common with the original, it has to be considered a unique piece of art itself. Thats why it´s so expensive.
