Janye's gun sling from Serenity?

I decided to dress up like Jayne for Halloween this year, seeing how I have a fair amount of mil surplus type gear, it wouldn't be that hard. Got myself a cunning hat, a blue sun shirt, and was about set.
Just to spice it up a bit, I looked around for a sling similar to what he had in the Serenity movie. The strap around his chest, namely.
And since I can't find a really good pic, one of the action figure:
I've found a few things that would work, sure, but I'm a bit neurotic about stuff for some reason. I really don't want to end up with something that has plastic clips and all that. Something big with a metal buckle would be awesome.
Yeah, Halloween is over, but I'd like to see what's out there that I (hopefully) missed.

I know this is a bit late but thought i might as well give this bit of info. the sling looks a lot like the "Carbine Sling" on this webpage. with medal and some glue it will look somewhat close ;)

Adam told me at Dragon Con back in September that they used one of the straps from a parachute for the rig Jayne wore to secure his "repeater". This conversation came up because I wore a Jayne costume @ Dragon Con & made a home made rig.
I have since found some parachute straps I bought off of Ebay to make into a more realistic looking rig.

That does look like a riser buckle now that you mention it. Have you been able to ID the little metal wavy bit just above it?
--To me it almost looks like an ornate stretched out Ethiopian cross.
Can anybody ID the hexagonal patch on Jayne's right shoulder in the bar scene in Serenity? I've ID'd the rest. HELP!!!

I got a parachute harness with 2 working buckles coming in from ebay now and some UK WWII Defence Medal ribbon. The ribbon appears to be the closest match that I can find.
If someone is interested (half the harness and 6" of ribbon) send me an email.
