Could somebody please help me out with Hex?

OK, I only managed to see the first half of season 1 of Hex, and have now started watching the new series. I'm really enjoying it, but I am thouroughly confused. Could someone please fill me in on what I've missed? I mean, what happened after she gave birth that meant she lost her baby?

She went to have an abortion but the baby was growing too fast. The doctor went through with it but the evil guy (I so dont know any of the names) made the doctor save the baby without Cassie knowing about. Thats why in the new episode, she didnt know if her baby was alive or not.
Cant really remember what else happened.
