What gives? This is suppose to be a dark and scary sci fi thriller, and here in Atlanta, there isn't a midnight showing ?
What about your town...anyone?

According to IMDB, there are a baker's dozen cinemas showing WotW today (the 28th), which I infer means midnight show. Seven in the Phoenix area, two in Miami, one in da Bronx & two more in Connecticut, and the Skyline Drive-in in Shelbyville IN.
And the countdown on the official site http://www.waroftheworlds.com/ says it's 4 hours 35 minutes to showtime.

I just find that a tad curious. ATL isn't exactly some backwater town, and midnight premiers are pretty common here.
I hope there's a midnight showing of the BDM!!!

I agree, ATL is big enough to get the midnight showings, I mean ATL got 3 Serenity Screenings. Charlotte got a Screening last round (yea!)and sometimes gets these midnight showings too, but not sure about WotW. I haven't been following it. I'm just not interested in WotW.

Well, I can't explain why War of the Worlds didn't have more midnight screenings, but I can tell you that most of the reviews have been excellent. Read here:

I believe this is THE summer blockbuster of the year, and as I have stated here on this board and the OB, I'm glad that Universal moved our BDM back to September, otherwise, it would have been up against Star Wars, Batman, and WoW. I will be seeing it tomorrow afternoon, and I'll try to post a few thoughts (no spoilers!).

On a whim, and against my own better judgement, I went ahead and saw WotW. What a disappointment. I mean, really...it was BAD. So many things annoyed the hell out of me with this version....don't worry, no spoilers here. All I'll say is that visually, there was some great stuff there, so it wasn't a complete waste of $. But an 'excellent' review?
I've seen SW RotS, Batman and now WotW. Serenity was, by far, better than all of them.
