OK - I'll bite: what is FFVII?
FFVII - or Final Fantasy VII - is an RPG computer game by Square-Enix, starring the somewhat confused Cloud Strife. What follows is a tale of love, death, and revenge.
I see... To read your fic, will I need to have played this game?
Well, if you have, you may see some of the plot twists coming, but I wrote it with the intention that it could be read by those who'd never played the game, or seen firefly...
Ah, hence the constant annoying exposition...
Yeah... I didn't write it because I enjoy writing exposition, or because I thought that others like to read exposition. In fact, I'm hating this exposition. Things should start to speed up once it's done with -- but no promises. 
The characters will meet, yeah?
In the next chapter or the one afterwards. I'm as clueless as you in that respect...
Who's Damon Talos? And who are Volk and Ketter?
Damon Talos is an original character created by SoulOfSerenity. He has kindly allowed me to make use of him in The Third Ideal. If you want to see Talos as his creator envisioned him, check out Soul's Destiny/Vengeance saga. Volk and Ketter are the names Soul coined for the Blue Hands.
