I'm sure the Operative would be jealous.

I'm a sword junkie, and that sword looks like it is Japaneese. It resembles a Katatana, not simillar to the Operative's straight Chineese sword.

However I have been wrong from time to time, so everybody is allowed so set me straight! =)

My favorite "New" old swords are Hanwei's Paul Chen "Tiger" and "Orchid" collection, of which I have one of each, the Katana, Wakazashi, and Tanto. All folded Sweedish steel, sharper than the devil himself!

I know this is against the FF 'verse with the Chineese being the other world power, but I just had to drop in my 2 cents... Or as inflation goes, I guess a couple a bucks? =)

BTW, awesome sword! Who is the swordsmith?

Well to answer your questions ILuvKaylee: 1, Yes it is a Katana and yes it was made in Japan, but is half tang and non sharp. It is a practice blade for Iaido (ie Japanese art of drawing the blade, defending oneself, and resheathing the blade) 2, It was made by Koei Budogu (One of the top martial art suppliers in Japan) Order it through my Sensei's website which is http://www.bogubag.com/ and he is the U.S rep for them. So hope that helps mata, Ookami yori

I, too, have a Katana & Wakazashi, but no Tanto...
440 stainless, full tang. Not terribly expensive, but decent, well-balanced.

Here's a really Shiny website for those into
well-made / hand-made swords -- all types:

http://www.classicblades.com

They have a replica of Miyamoto Musashi's Katana...

Sorry, me again slight correction
Its 2am something when I posted the pict I think and screwed up the name. oki na machigai masu ne. The name of my blade should be "Tora no Takara" so screwed up the word for treasure. It should be Takara. Sorry about that.

While I have a similer blade to that I still like the OP's blade better.

Well Railean, To each his/her own.
For me the katana is not just a blade, but a peice of art and is to be treasured as such. Speaking of which finally managed to buy a display stand so when I'm not practicing with it can display it as it should be.
