First time writing a Jayne/Inara fic. Written for LJ's firefly100. Prompt: taste

He was built, muscular, defined. Sitting on his bench.
Curl, tense, relax. Again.
Inara watched from the stairs. No sound but the breathing of a man on a bench.
She watched. Jayne pumped. Muscles tensed. Sweat built up.
Sweat trickled from forehead to chin, dripping. Dripping to the chest of a man on a bench.
Inara sat fixated. He caused an urge in her she’d had not known. Not professional. Forbidden.
Muscles tense, relax. Sweat trickled over his muscles. It took all Inara could to not grab Jayne and taste him. Taste the sweat of a man on a bench.
Still....have never really seen the possibility for these two. Friends...maybe, if the series had gone on longer. Lovers.....anything's possible with Joss but even that stretches things.
Really, I have always imagined either the given M/I pairing, with strong possibilities for S/I or I/K pairings. Jayne's certainly all manly and such, but Inara has always struck me as more...pragmatic than how she is portrayed here. Mal and Simon are possibly better choices as they are closer to her in manners and education than Jayne, and Kaylee could be Inara's comfort focus when the job goes caca.Though Jayne would certainly be protective and loyal, but I think Inara would still go for a person who give her the needed space and such (pairings involving Jayne usually have him rather emotionally grabby, though in a good way).
Still...short but intriguing stuff here:)
