Rebuilding Haven – Prologue

Serenity flew threw the mine system of Haven which was still thankfully intact. Its exterior floodlights illuminating the otherwise pitch black mine shaft. But surprising to the crew the hanger was illuminated by jury-rigged floodlights and many there was almost no room for Serenity to land but somehow River managed it somehow. ‘Seeing’ a spot just between an old beat up type 460 alwitz cargo hauler and a nifty like Kormaran transport ship.

The crew disembarked and all but two of them had puzzled faces. The exceptions were River who obviously knew what was happening the second they breached atmo. The other who wasn’t puzzled by the appearance of many people from a deserted moon… was Kaylee. She was so excited to meet all the new people and listen to their many interesting stories and sharing hers but right now she only had one interest: Getting Simon to the nearest room with a double bed and a door that you could lock.

Mal was more interested in finding out what all the commotion is about instead of going off with Inara. Much to Inara’s distaste, her motto if she ever started having a motto would be Focus on the Job at hand*.

Zoë and Jayne both had no-one else to please so they did as they liked mingling with the large company. Jayne would wake up the next morning next to a beautiful woman, for a while he would think that he might leave the life of a mercenary but that would be interrupted by a shotgun totting father who walked in on them during the ritual who are you and how did I get here ceremony performed by Jayne. Jayne slept in the ship most nights from then on.

Mal tried to find the leader of this rather large throng… and to his surprise he found a person he never thought he would see again. And on instinct he drew his pistol and aimed it at the leader’s head.

He would have pulled the trigger but he wouldn’t know what to put on the headstone.
