I like the design, and that's a great pic in the background. But you wanted advice, what program are you currently using? Whatever it is, you may want to find out how to fade things, or, if you're serious about the whole bannermaking thing, get one that allows you to. It just makes pictures blend together more into one image. That's pretty much all, is learning to use features, takes a bit of getting used to, but I'm sure you'll figure it out in no time! You seem to have the designing thing down though, so no worries about that!
