Hard to translate, but i´ll try ^^
1. "Serenity - Escape to new Worlds"
Ok,that was the easy one *g*
2. "The other ones have the weapons, but she [River, i guess] is dangerous."
Quite dumb line, if you ask me^^
I don´t understand why we germans need such un-stylish lines =(
English is so much cooler... *drool* ;)

I don't like it.
I like it better than the first intl one, but I still don't like it...It just doesn't have the feel of our verse.

Did anyone notice that they put Zoe in the picture reversed (ie: left handed)? I guess it's to balance out the picture... ?
I kind of agree with alex21... it just doesn't have the "grittyness" that defined FIREFLY as a series. I hope the movie gets to keep some of that "rough and tumble" feel. That was part of what made it so great!

Like Alex21...I like this one more than the first int'l one, but still not greatly.
Summers looks fantastic though.
I like this one more than the last once...because, it has a planet in the background...which gives someone more of a clue as to it's setting, space. I'm fairly certain there weren't planets in the 1st version, but right not I'm unsure.
And the buildings...they look kinda futuristic...which again gives a clue to the setting.
But again...I don't like the colours...this whole, desert look...it looks like something from the Phantom Menace.
I much prefer the so-called generic US poster.

Since I am from Germany, we are the ones affected by this poster and I think that the setting doesn't become clear enough due to a complete lack of Serenity itself on the poster. :(
(And we don't like the tagline about the weapons either)

As I said in the other thread, I think they are marketing it now more as a action film to nonfans that know nothing about firely or serenity. Action films tend to draw people in, the characters and stories should keep them and hopefully pleasently surprise them if all they are going for is a "kewl" action film.
I liked the aussie one better but anything that helps draw people in I am in favor of.

I'd freely translate it thus:

as opposed to 'The New World', aka America, this has connotations of other planets)
"Some have weapons. She's just dangerous."
That's a Hollywood tagline if ever I saw one. A lot of German 'Buffy' fans will see it, thinking it's 'Buffy' in space...too bad. It also implies that the title Serenity refers to River. *sigh*

"From the maker of 'Buffy- under the spell of the demons' (wtf- demons?? Good god, why not Vampires?!), 'and Angel- Hunter of the Darkness/ (Darkness-Hunter)'...wow, we Germans really *do* know how to make exciting titles, eh?

'die einen' is used as a comparison 'die einen, die anderen' 'some/ these/ those, the others' So..."Those have the weapons.(-by implication- 'while') She is dangerous". Pretty sad grammar, really...I reckon "Die einen haben Waffen- Sie *ist* eine Waffe" (she is a weapon) might have been more appropriate. Actually, on second thought...Perhaps it's referring to the Serenity crew as having the weapons, and her effectively being one, through her dangerous-ness...in which case the translation "they have the weapons. She is dangerous" might work. (I can see why they wouldn't use the exact German for this though, as you'd end up with "Sie (they) haben die Waffen. Sie (She) ist gefährlich"...perhaps two 'sie's in one sentence may be too much...okay, enough babbling. I'd love to hear the show dubbed into German, though :)
