I wrote both parts a while ago, I just wanted to see if anyone would read it- it’s my first fanfic, so I’m kind of testing the water. If people want more, I’ll keep writing!
Part Two
After the authorities had Mal, Zoe and Jayne surrounded, George stepped up onto the ship, a proud smile on his wrinkled face.
“Well, ‘Captain’, I suppose you’re here for the cargo.”
“I suppose so, mister-”
“Well now, you didn’t tell me your real name, why should I tell ya mine?”
Mal looked him in the eyes and spoke real careful so the white-haired man would understand.
“My name is Malcolm Reynolds, and this is my ship, Serenity- I’m just here to haul some cargo. That there’s the truth.”
Zoe was staring coldly at George, studying his face. Jayne was occupied wrinkling his nose at the overwhelming odor of fish.
“Well now, cap’n, you thought you had me fooled. Come in a day early, afore the REAL Serenity, steal its cargo out from under ever’body, and run like the wind. You can’t fool me, cap’n. No, sir.” George let out a long cackle, and nodded to the gunmen to take their prisoners away.
“Now hold on just a minute! I don’t know how you all do business here on Poseidon, but I run decent business, and I don’t steal cargo from nobody. What are you talking about, the REAL Serenity?”
“The REAL Serenity just left not an hour ago, and beat you afore you could cheat them. You imposters tried yer best, but I guess ya weren’t a match for them!”
Zoe shut her eyes a moment, thinking hard, then replied to the white-haired man’s ramblings.
“So, another ship came here claiming to be Serenity, and took our cargo? They came a day early, too?”
The proud look on George’s face fell into one of confusion, as he rethought his logic.
“Well, I guess if ya both came a day early, ya could both be imposters. Or y’all could be the REAL Serenity. You got some papers or somethin’?”
Mal rolled his eyes as he slowly grabbed some papers out of his coat pocket.
