This is excellent! Good use of value, and you REALLY caught his mouth (he's got an awfully nice mouth, too, doesn't he?).

If there was a weak point here, I would say the hair, but certainly not by much. More use of shape rather than line to define the highlights would have lended more realism, but as it stands it's great!

Did you use any shading tools for this (stumps, chammi and such) or is it all layered graphite?

Channain, I used HB, 3B and 5B graphite pencils, and I used my eraser to soften the gradations and strokes. I've found the eraser much better than stumps or tortillions for blending, and less messy than using my fingers :)

Nice attempt! I'm sure it took you quite a few hours to render. A couple of suggestions/comments: His nose is way too wide. Mal/Nathan has a very narrow, Roman nose, with flare-y nostrils. And the eyes are a bit too large, making him look about 10 years younger than he actually is.

I do pencil and graphite sketches too. I applaud your effort!
