Inara at Itzacon

Sunday, November 14, 2004

I had raided my fabric stash and found everything I needed to make a version of Inara's dress in The Message epi. I wore it today at Itzacon for the Firefly/Serenity promotional table kindly provided by Kestrel Sempai and supported by our Dallas-Plano Browncoats.

Wow. That's a really great replica. Did you use any patterns, or did you just try to figure it all out?

Thanks everybody!
Regarding patterns and stuff, the one I used for the bodice was very old ,from '87, the rest I did freehand. I think theres some patterns out there one could use. I'm just too cheap to buy new one's and since I do costuming for my hobby-jobby, I do wing it a lot with designs. I tend to chop and sew. :}
Anyhoo, glad y'all like it!

That's not talent, that's a 'Verse-given gift. It's like those people who can just throw stuff in a pan, stick it in the oven, and it comes out a gourmet meal.

Beautifully done!!
