DCC - backdrop CU & Inara

Tuesday, October 26, 2004

Got permission from Needleseye to post this. A closer shot of her backdrop, as well as showing off her hand-sewn "Heart of Gold" Inara costume. She projected the ship onto the black fabric, drew the outlines, then painted in the details by looking at a picture. Browncoats are a talented bunch! Oh, and more shiny fliers on top!

Thanks Shiny :)
If anyone wonders, I painted this with house paint I had on black fabric. Its mounted in a folding screen I built that stayed in my living room previously.( I love recycling! ) In person its really quite nifty, tho' I say it myself, but I'm not so sure about in pictures, or about me in pics either :P
Also, I had to skip some sleep to paint on this, thinkin' that's probably obvious. Touch-ups I didnt have time to do. sigh... :(
BUT people did pop up at DCC and say to us, "Ooh Firefly!" So it served its purpose.
Oh, sources were the FF DVD box and the Serenity/'Versal site.

Wow, that's amazing, Needleseye. You're very talented!!

And the costume reminds me, my group of friends was talking about being Firefly characters for Halloween, 'cept all the girls wanted to be Inara, because she gets the prettiest dresses! Well, except me, I wanted to be Zoe. But I like guns. And Wash. ;)

words escaped at once,

This is very nice work,
Never had house paint turn out that nice

Talented indeed

Picture Looks great, and you say it is better in person!
Looks like I just found the person to decorated My FireFLy when I get through welding.

Thanks, AnguaLupin
Didn't realise was a costume,
just fit Needleseye so well,
never would have come to mind.
