I think you are wrong about the hat. He wore a Stetson for the most part, and is pictured with a hat on the cover of nearly every book. Not that it really matters for the purpose of your artwork, but...just saying.

This made me smile. If Mal really were Dresden it might improve his luck where it comes to dodging the gorram Alliance though I really love Paul Blackthorne in the role from the DVD box set. Somehow I can't see Zoe as Karrin Murphy from the descriptions in the book though she can sure kick sufficient *pigu*. Ali D :~)

I tend to side with the author over the cover artist, EC. Harry Dresden, *as written,* does not wear hats. He says outright in Changes that he doesn't do hats. His inner monologue in one of the short stories, titled Heorot, also mentions his lack of hat. Jim Butcher has commented in a few interviews about his ongoing war against the cover artist over the hat. Comic book Harry wears no hat, with those allbeing approved by the author (which cover art is not.) I'm not wrong, there's no hat. Harry doesn't wear a hat.

I don't know, Amdo, Harry doesn't seem that good at 'dodging' much of anything :)
Gina Torres as Murphy? Absolutely not. Renee O'Connor is Murphy. However, Gina as Susan Rodriguez? Yes.

You may be right, PR. I've only read the first two books and it has been a couple of years since then, and I don't recall if he wore a hat in those. However, when the TV show started I had a thread about it on my ezboard (now on Yuku), and one of the regulars who had read all of the books up to that point complained about several things, and one of those was, "Where's Harry's Stetson?"

Well, the complainer probably hadn't read very carefully, or multiple times. I tend to do both, as well as compulsively searching for more information, such as short stories and interviews and comic books and interviews about the comic books.
Such as this panel moment (about 1:40 in) where Butcher talks about getting to work with the artist on character design... and about the HAT:

I have done more of the cast, actually, but I figured that Harry would be a known character to most people here who maybe weren't as into the series as us. I've got a photobucket of photos (both modified and unmodified) that represent the characters to me: http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t62/PRbackup/DresdenCharacters/ but it is of course far from complete.

Adam Baldwin is a perfect fit for Michael Carpenter. IMHO :-)

No way could Baldwin be Michael Carpenter. Sorry, but it doesn't fit on him at all.
Rose, I rather like your choice of Alan for Michael in that photobucket, though I never pictured him. I think the closest picture I'd have of Michael might be Jerry Orbach.

This is kinda hilarious, my brother and I actually had this conversation a couple of weeks ago. Only we expanded it to include the Whedonverse.
