River, ready for the ride

Hi,
this is my first drawing attempt for years. Drawn with each hard & soft pencil, graphite stick and couple colour pencils on A3 format white drawing paper (100g/m^2). The pic is a original 5mp shoot, no digital enchancement.
Hope you like it, comments and tips appreciated.

Very well done. You've successfully captured the scene. Although, I don't know if you got River's nose and/or mouth quite right. Great job :)

yeah, i know they arent quite right
i find the eyes, nose and mouth are very difficult to draw right
probably because they are the most significant parts of a face and express most of the feelings, every little detail changes the whole picture
plus the final result also depends on the tools used, dont think pencils are best for these parts of the face, kinda hard to get the wet look
but ill keep practicing, maybe someday ill get it all right ;-)

There are some nice dewitt inktense pencils that blend with water to produce a wet look. I used them in my last River drawing "The departure of number two."
