What I would really like to see is some guitar tabulation for the music of the theme- Not the main theme but something more than what Joss strummed in the DVD special features. That way, those of us who are rookie guitar players and not good enough to figure it out can still learn it. Awesome and emotional tune and it would be shiny to play at a Shindig

I found it! When it was origonaly posted, i saved it to my computer then forgot about it. It been an ignored little icon on my desktop for a while now.

I kinda feel bad putting it up again because its not me who did it and i don't wanna take credit for it, also, sense it already up i don't wanna put it up again.

I actually find that using an open tuning works best for all those slide bits.
Try open g:

Regular Tuning: E A D G B e
Open G Tuning : D G D G B d

Start with regular tuning, then tune E down to D (you can use string 4 as your harmonic), then e down to d, then tune A down a step to G. Done! You should get a nice G-chord when strummed open.

If you barr at 3, 5 and 7, you get most all the chords. And if you are really good, you can flat pick most of the leads.

The filk band Escape Key wrote and recorded a charming extended version of the firefly theme song. What I appreciate is that they made Joss' song the chorus, and created their own verses.
