I wanted a poster for work with 3 elements-Kaylee and her parasol, the FF logo, and the quote. Done with MS Paint. Not happy with the result.I don't like the blending, but can't do any better. ANy help?

You might try paint.net. http://www.getpaint.net/ It's free, and has a lot of the things that Photoshop does. There's also Gimp http://www.gimp.org/windows/ But it has a bit of a learning curve.

as a fellow paint user (read: torture victim), i'd say it looks pretty good. one thing i might do is either get rid of the black bar on the right side of the 'firefly' pic, or else make it closer to the color to it's right.

thanx for the hints. I gotta get a better paint program, fer shure. I thought there was a way even in MS Paint, to paste an object transparently over a background, but it seems not.

There is a very crude way of doing it, but only if you want to waste your life doing it. I just recommend Paint.Net.
