This started as a project to reproduce the photo of River from the end of "The Train Job". Using screenshots and photoshop I managed to remove the distortion and produce a head-on shot. Then, I printed the result onto non-inkjet clear plastic, causing the dye to form into small droplets. Then I printed the image onto normal photo paper, which I then treated with water, vinegar and a heavy application of heat with a clothes iron. The heat caused a large portion of ink and coating to come off. Then I combined the two and photographed it. If there is real demand I could scan it at a higher resolution, or provide the source image as it stands. This is the first time I've experimented with physical manipulation, so comments are appreciated!

It's like an old and damaged photograph. It also reminds me slightly of how the paint on a really old oil painting can crack.
And I wouldn't mind seeing a higher res version or the source image.
