I've been listening to the song "Blackbird" by the Beatles, as sung by Evan Rachel Wood in Across the Universe, and couldn't help but think how much the song reminds me of Mal and River. So I couldn't not make these. In case you couldn't tell, screencaps taken from the BDM.

Mal and Inara try to figure each other out after the BDM. Title and lyrics come from a song by incubus. When I first heard it, I thought it was really appropriate for our pseudo-starcrossed lovers. And it's funny how I started this with the intention of it being happy ending, but it Mal and 'Nara just gotta make things difficult.
